Financial Policy

Thank you for choosing Northern Nevada Women’s Health to participate in your medical care.  To provide you with a full understanding of your financial obligations, an important aspect of your medical care, we have developed the following policies:

All patients are financially responsible for services rendered

  • You are required to provide a copy of your current insurance card and photo ID at every visit
  • It is the patient’s responsibility to know their insurance policy’s terms, conditions, and limitations
  • All co-payments, deductibles and co-insurance are due at the time of the service
  • Medicare recipients are expected to keep their files updated with the appropriate agency
  • Self-pay patients are required to pay for their services in full at the time of their visit
  • All accounts over 90 days unpaid will be turned to our collections agency unless previous arrangements have been made
  • If you are having difficulty meeting your financial responsibility, please call our billing department at 800-207-9135

Medicaid Patients

  • You are required to present your proof of Medicaid coverage at every visit
  • Medicaid recipients are expected to keep their files updated with the appropriate agency
  • Medicaid may show other insurance on file – If this information is incorrect, you must correct your file with Medicaid before being seen
  • If your status with Medicaid is “Pending” you will be considered a self-pay patient, and payment will be required at the time of your visit
  • Medicaid eligibility will be verified prior to your visit – if eligibility cannot be determined, you will be considered a self-pay patient, and payment will be required at the time of the visit
  • If Medicaid determines retroactively that you are ineligible or there is other coverage for services they have paid, you will be billed for these charges

Referral and Authorization

  • OBGYN providers may be considered specialists by insurance carriers. It is the responsibility of the patient to ensure that any referrals or authorizations for treatment are provided to our office before treatment
  • If an authorization or referral is not obtained prior to the visit, you will be expected to pay for all charges at the time of the visit or be rescheduled for another time

Surgical and Obstetrical patients

  • All surgical patients must pay their out-of-pocket expenses before their scheduled surgery date.
  • All Obstetrical patients must pay their out-of-pocket expenses before their expected due date.
